Manhattan Boro President Scott Stringer visited the offices of the Boro Park Jewish Community Council (BPJCC) this week to see firsthand the energetic efforts of the JCC and the work they are doing for the community.
In a discussion with Rabbi Yeruchim Silber, BPJCC Executive Director who was joined by JCC board members and other community leaders, they talked about the various services offered by the Council such as benefits enrollment, crisis assistance, senior services, special program for holocaust survivors and much more. Boro President Stringer also took the opportunity to to speak directly to some of the JCC staff members and congratulate them on their most important work.
The Boro President also toured the Boro Park YM-YWHA, in whose building the JCC is located and met as well with the Executive Director of the Y, Ms. Ellie Kastel.
BPJCC, an affiliate of Met Council, was founded to serve Boro Park and surrounding areas with all their social service needs, including Medicaid and Child Health Plus, food stamp enrollment, employment services, crisis assistance and services to seniors and holocaust survivors.
