5th Annual Legislative Breakfast

This Tuesday morning, July 17, Shema Kolainu-Hear Our Voices, a school and center for children with autism, hosted their 5th Annual Legislative Breakfast in the Renaissance Ballroom in Brooklyn, New York. A primary goal of this event was to educate legislators about the urgency of autism care and research, raise support and awareness and share ideas about working toward combating autism through effective public policy and legislation. In addition, communal, civic and religious leaders, community philanthropists, and elected officials, were in attendance to pay tribute to several outstanding public officials and community leaders for their dedication in furthering the mission of Shema Kolainu.

Menachem Lubinsky, the dynamic president and CEO of Lubicom Marketing Consulting graced the breakfast as the master of ceremonies.  Greetings from Governor Eliot Spitzer were related by Ross M. Wallenstein, Assistant to the Governor for Community Affairs. Governor Spitzer’s letter stirred the crowd with his words: “It is my hope that the center’s innovative and nurturing environment empowers affected boys and girls to move beyond their disabilities and lead productive, rewarding lives.”

This breakfast was generously sponsored by Affinity Health Plan.

The highly deserving recipient of the City Leadership award was Council Speaker Christine Quinn, who displays extraordinary leadership qualities. She has earned the respect and esteem of her colleagues and the residents of New York since assuming the office of Speaker.
